The position of Pound Veterinarian for a term
of three years, heretofore created by ordinance, is hereby continued.
It shall be the duty of the Pound Veterinarian of the City to make
a minimum of two visits a month to the animal pound of the City to
inspect the same and examine the animals therein contained, as well
as make further calls whenever necessary to examine and treat sick
animals.

A. Maintenance of animal pound. The animal control officers
shall feed and care for all animals confined in the pound and keep
the pound in a clean and sanitary condition.
B. Animals at large; impounding. Any animals found running
at large in the City may be taken to the pound by the animal control
officer. The animal control officer shall keep a record of each animal
taken at the time of impounding much animal.
C. Redemption of impounded animals; maintenance charges.
(1) The provisions of §
121-19 shall be applicable to all dogs and, insofar as practicable, to all other impounded animals.
(2) In addition to the maintenance fee of $4 per day for dogs as provided in §
121-19, a charge of $1 per day or portion thereof shall be made for a cat and $3 per day or portion thereof for any other animal.
All moneys received for the redemption of impounded
animals shall be paid to the City Treasurer, together with a statement
explaining the same, at such times as the Council shall require.
