Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146, there is established
in the Township of Readington the office of Tax Assessor. The Tax
Assessor shall be appointed for a term as provided in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148
and shall be paid such compensation as determined by the Township
Committee.[1]
This article shall take effect retroactively
from July 1, 1985, upon final adoption and publication according to
law and upon filing a copy hereof with the Hunterdon County Tax Administrator
and with the Director of the Division of Taxation in the Department
of the Treasury and the Director of the Division of Local Finance
in the Department of Community Affairs pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48B-15.
