A police officer of any rank who has chosen or elected to retire and to accept any of the benefits accruing to him as a result of such retirement, including but not limited to terminal leave, accumulated sick time, vacation time or personal days benefits, cannot rescind such election and seek to return to active duty within Readington Township.
A police officer who has elected to take retirement, in addition to the above, cannot withdraw his application for retirement.
Nothing in this article shall be construed to limit the right of any police officer of any rank who has elected such retirement and has accepted the benefits of such retirement to seek police work in another municipality's Police Department within or outside of the State of New Jersey. Further, nothing in this article shall be construed to limit the rights of the township under N.J.S.A. 40:47-11.1.
