[Adopted 11-4-1980 by the electorate, effective 1-1-1981]
It is hereby established that the rules of order
for the conduct of the Annual Town Meeting require that the vote on
all items on the call for said meeting on the annual budget shall
be taken at the adjourned meeting thereof, as submitted to the persons
qualified to vote in such meeting not less than seven nor more than
14 days after said Annual Town Meeting, on a day set by said meeting
or, if said meeting does not set a date, by the Town Selectmen, for
a vote by paper ballots or on the voting machines, during at least
eight hours starting not earlier than 6:00 a.m. and finishing not
later than 8:00 p.m.
The Moderator of said Annual Town Meeting, after
completion of other business and after reasonable discussion, shall
adjourn said meeting and order such vote on such items accordingly.
If such Moderator resigns or is for any other cause unable to serve
as Moderator at such adjourned meeting, the Town Clerk shall serve,
or may appoint an elector to serve, as Moderator thereof.
The Town Clerk shall phrase all items in a form
suitable for printing on paper ballots or voting machine ballot labels
and shall provide the paper ballots or ballot labels, as the case
may be.
