No building permit for new construction or enlargement
of a present structure shall be issued unless the following off-street
parking and loading requirements have been satisfied:
A. R-1 Residential: two contiguous spaces per dwelling
unit.
B. C-1 Commercial: one space for every 250 square feet
of gross floor area; restaurants and other eatery establishments shall
require one parking space for every 75 square feet of patron area
or one parking space for every three seats for patrons, whichever
is greater, plus one parking space for every two employees on a shift
with the most employees.

C. Any restaurant or eatery providing food service in
the Town of South Bethany prior to or after the date of this enactment,
if the patron area is enlarged, shall be required to satisfy the parking
requirements of this article, as amended, based on the entire (total)
patron area.

For R-1, a parking space shall have a minimum
width (parallel to the street) of 10 feet and a minimum length (perpendicular
to the street) of 20 feet. Paved driveways shall not encroach into
the street right-of-way. For C-1 Commercial, a parking space shall
have a minimum width of 10 feet and depth of 20 feet.
Setback areas may be used for parking or as
a driveway to such parking.
