Political signs will be restricted to display on private property, upon
consent of property owners. They may be displayed for annual or special Town
elections and presidential primaries, for a period of four weeks prior to
election day and shall be removed within seven days after election day. In
the case of a state primary, signs may be displayed four weeks prior to primary
day and one week thereafter. The unsuccessful candidates shall remove their
signs within the prescribed seven days. The successful candidate may be permitted
to display his signs until seven days after the state election.
When nomination papers are issued by the Town Clerk, copies of this
chapter shall be given to all candidates.
When a complaint is filed with the Police Department, any person or
persons in violation of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of $10 for
each offense.
