The purpose of this chapter shall be to provide regulations for the
retention, transfer and destruction of records of the Township of Abington.
This chapter is adopted for the purpose of retention of records for the period
in which such records are needed and for the destruction of records to preserve
necessary storage space for the government of Abington Township and for the
preservation of historic records.
Chapter 13 of Title 46 of the Pennsylvania Code, entitled "Retention
and Disposition Schedule for Records of Pennsylvania Municipalities," promulgated
by the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission, as existing on the date
of adoption of this chapter, be and hereby is adopted as the regulations for
retention, transfer and destruction of records within the Township of Abington,
and each and all of the regulations in said Chapter 13 of Title 46 of the
Pennsylvania Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as
if fully set forth in this chapter.
