There shall be a Department of Administration,
the head of which shall be the Township Clerk under the direction
and supervision of the Manager. The Municipal Clerk shall be appointed
by the Council and shall, prior to appointment, be qualified by training
and experience to perform the duties of office. The Township Clerk
shall be appointed for a term of three years and shall receive such
compensation as shall be provided by ordinance. The Township Clerk
may be the same person who holds the office of Township Manager or
the office of Deputy Manager, if the same be provided for by Council.

The Manager shall appoint a Deputy Township
Clerk, who shall perform the functions and exercise the powers and
duties of the Township Clerk in the absence of or upon the direction
of the Township Clerk. The Deputy Township Clerk shall also perform
such functions and exercise such powers and duties as may be directed
by the Manager. The Deputy Clerk shall be a part of the Department
of Administration.
The salary established for the Township Clerk
shall be in lieu of any and all other fees to which the Clerk may
be entitled by statute, law or ordinance. All fees prescribed to be
collected by the Clerk shall be forthwith deposited with and for the
benefit of the Township.
