250, Zoning, and all other applicable laws and ordinances.
Any vehicle used in the pursuit of business

[Adopted 12-21-1965 as L.L. No. 2-1965]
[Amended 5-8-1996 by L.L. No. 5-1996]
It is hereby declared that abandoned, junked,
discarded, dismantled and unregistered motor vehicles in and upon
privately owned real property within the Village of Scotia are a matter
affecting the public interest. They constitute a nuisance in that
health, fire and safety hazards are created. They constitute an attractive
nuisance to children and are a peril to their safety. This matter
is a source of vexation and annoyance and depreciates the value of
neighboring properties. The preservation of public health and protection
of property and the elimination of public hazards compel the Board
of Trustees of the Village of Scotia to legislate on this matter.
It is hereby declared that adoption of this article has for its purpose
the effective termination of such practices.
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
JUNKED VEHICLE
Any vehicle, including a trailer or motorcycle, which fails
to display a currently valid and properly attached New York State
inspection sticker or which fails to display a currently valid registration
sticker or which has no license plates. This shall apply to such vehicles
which are offered for sale.
