An Ambulance Corps for the city is hereby created with the powers and
duties enumerated in this chapter.
The Ambulance Corps shall consist of at least one representative of
each Fire Department of the city, which representative shall be selected by
each such Fire Department, with the Chief of the Fire Department as chairman
of the Corps. The members of the Corps shall serve for the term of four years.
The officers of the Corps shall consist of President, Secretary and Treasurer,
to be elected by the Corps.
The Ambulance Corps shall have the right to acquire, by gift or bequest,
and to operate and maintain a motor ambulance for the purpose of conveying
the sick and injured residents of the city and the vicinity to and from hospitals.
The city shall have the power to appropriate and expend, for the purposes mentioned in §
2-3 hereof, sufficient moneys necessary for the operation and maintenance of the motor ambulance.
