There shall not be a church or public funeral for any person who has
died of smallpox, diphtheria, plague, yellow fever, typhus fever, leprosy,
cholera or any other disease that may be specified by the Board; but the burial
shall take place within 24 hours after the death of said person. It shall
not be lawful to permit at the funeral of any person who has died of any of
the above-mentioned diseases, or at any service connected therewith, any person
whose attendance is not necessary or family members or others under quarantine,
without permission of the Health Officer.
Every funeral director having notice of the death of any person within
the Borough from any of the above-mentioned reportable diseases dangerous
or detrimental to the health of the community or of the bringing of the dead
body of one who has died of any such disease into the Borough shall immediately
give notice thereof to the Board.
No public coach, cab, taxicab, carriage, automobile nor any other upholstered
vehicle used for the conveyance of passengers shall be used to convey the
body of any person who has died.
No disinterment shall be permitted nor shall any disinterment take place
at any time without a permit from the Board.
