There is hereby established in the Township
of Springfield a Commission to be known as the "Planning Commission
of Springfield Township," which shall have all the rights, powers
and duties as provided and set forth in the statutes of the State
of Pennsylvania, and any amendments or supplements thereto.

The Planning Commission shall be composed of seven residents
of the Township, one from each ward, who shall be appointed by the
Township Board of Commissioners and shall serve without compensation.
The term of office of the planning members shall be as determined
by the Board of Commissioners and shall not exceed four years. Each
appointment shall be made so that multiple members terms will not
expire in the same year. The Board of Commissioners shall appoint
successors and fill any vacancy for the unexpired portion of such
vacant term. The Board may reappoint members at the expiration of
their term.
