[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Vernon 9-26-2007
by Ord. No. 2007-14. Amendments noted where applicable.]
This Uniform Address Numbering Ordinance is hereby adopted by the Vernon
Town Board, to provide a single system of displaying address numbers for all
residential, commercial, industrial, and public assembly occupancies within
the Town of Vernon. Such ordinance is intended to make addresses readily visible
to emergency service responders during all times of the day, and thus decrease
response times. Address numbers displayed shall be as assigned by the Town
and as filed in the office of the Town Clerk. The Uniform Address System of
the Town shall be based on and become a part of the Uniform Address System
for Waukesha County, as recommended by the County Board on March 12, 1957,
and shall conform to the Uniform System of Numbering recommended in the Report
of the Special Committee of Waukesha County Board appointed to study developing
a uniform address system.
