All of the executive, administrative and legislative
powers of the Township of Mullica shall be vested in the Township
Committee.
In addition to such other powers and duties
as may be conferred upon the Township Committee by this chapter or
by general law, the Township Committee shall have the power to:
A. Exercise investigative powers by requiring a Township
officer, in its discretion, to prepare and submit sworn statements
regarding his/her official duties and the performances thereof and
otherwise investigate the conduct of any department, office or agency
of Township government and remove by a majority vote of the whole
number of the Township Committee any Township officer other than the
elected members of the Township Committee, for cause, upon notice
and an opportunity to be heard.
B. Appoint an advisory board of citizens.
C. Appoint the Township Committee representative to the
Township Planning Board.
D. Negotiate and approve contracts as necessary.
E. Approve the Annual Township Budget pursuant to the
Local Budget Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:4-1 et seq.).
F. Appoint, set salaries and remove any Township officers
and employees subject to the general law and contractual obligations
and the general limits of the Township budget.
G. Appoint the Township Auditor.
H. Designate the official newspapers for purposes of
legal advertising of Township affairs.
I. Exercise any and all general legislative powers conferred
upon the Township Committee by general law.
