All references in any other ordinance or resolution
to the Mayor and/or Council which exist by virtue of the prior form
of government shall be interpreted as the Mayor and Township Committee.
Such provision shall be liberally construed to effectuate the organization
and regulation of this municipal government and the enforcement of
the ordinance as adopted by this municipality. All ordinances and
resolutions of the Township, to the extent that they are not inconsistent
with the provisions of this code or general law, shall remain in full
force and effect until modified or repealed as provided by law.
As provided herein, all personnel, records and
property of the Township are transferred to the department or office
to which the functions, powers and duties are transferred by this
ordinance.
If, in the discretion of a majority of the Township
Committee, it is deemed necessary to create additional departments
or divisions of existing departments, the Township Committee may by
majority vote create the same and amend this chapter accordingly.
