From and after the effective date of this chapter, it shall be unlawful for any person, other than the duly authorized representatives of the Supervisors of Brighton Township, the Brighton Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Brighton Township Municipal Authority, to open, tamper with or in any manner interfere with any fire hydrant within the confines of the Township of Brighton.
It shall also be unlawful for any person to plant or maintain any flowers, plants, shrubs and/or trees within six feet of any fire hydrant, nor shall any person place, construct or maintain any permanent or temporary structure, fence or other obstruction within six feet of any fire hydrant.

A. 
Penalties for violation of § 96-1. Any person violating any of the provisions of § 96-1, Tampering with hydrants prohibited, of this chapter, shall, upon conviction in a summary proceeding before a Magistrate District Judge, be sentenced to pay a fine of $1,000 and, in default of the payment of such fine and costs, shall suffer imprisonment in the Beaver County Jail for a period not exceeding 15 days.
B. 
Penalties for violation of § 96-2. Any person violating any of the provisions of § 96-2, Prohibited plantings and structures, of this chapter, shall, upon conviction in a summary proceeding before a Magistrate District Judge, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $300 nor more than $1,000 and, in default of the payment of such fine and costs, shall suffer imprisonment in the Beaver County Jail for a period not exceeding 15 days.
