Whereas, a public hearing was held on August
14, 2001, after due publication and posting as provided by law, to
consider the proposal to amend an ordinance authorizing partial exemption
of real property tax to include a real property tax exemption for
"Gold Star Parents" which means the parent of a child who died in
the line of duty while serving in the United States Armed Forces during
a period of war pursuant to § 458-a of the Real Property
Tax Law, and now therefore be it enacted and ordained, that this Town
Board hereby amends the ordinance known as "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
PARTIAL EXEMPTION OF REAL PROPERTY TAX" in accordance with the provisions
of § 458-a of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of
New York.
The Assessor be and she hereby is directed to
administer this amendment in accordance with the provision of § 458-a
of the Real Property Tax Law and as the same may be amended hereafter
from time to time.
The Town Clerk be and she hereby is directed
to cause the proper posting and publications as provided by law.
