The City of Coatesville shall become a participant in the Social Security System and the benefits of Old Age and Survivors' Insurance shall be extended to its officers and employees.
The President of Council and the City Manager of the City of Coatesville, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, are authorized to execute and deliver to the Secretary of Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the state agency charged with the administration of the enabling act, the plan and agreement required under the provisions of Section 6 of said enabling act and the Social Security Act,[1] to extend coverage to the officers and employees of this city and to do all other things necessary to that end.

The Director of Finance be and he or she is hereby authorized to make all required payments into the contribution fund established by Section 7 of said enabling act[1] and to establish such system of payroll deductions from salaries of officers and employees as may be necessary to their coverage under said Old Age and Survivors' Insurance System.

The Council of the City of Coatesville hereby appropriates from the proper fund or funds of said city the amounts necessary to pay into the contribution fund as provided in Section 4 of the enabling act[1] and in accordance with the plan and agreement.

The proper officials of the City of Coatesville shall do all things in accordance with the provisions contained in the plan and agreement necessary to the continued implementation of said Old Age and Survivors' Insurance System.
The City of Coatesville shall become a participant in the Social Security System, and such participation shall commence as of the first day of January 1956.
