[The Housing Authority of the City of Easton
was established on February 1, 1946, by certificate of the Governor
of Pennsylvania pursuant to the submission of a petition of at least
25 citizens and taxpayers resident in the City of Easton, in accordance
with the provisions of the Act of May 28, 1937 (P.L. 955). The Act
provides that the Mayor shall appoint with advice and consent of Council
two persons to be members of the Housing Authority of such City, and
the Governor shall appoint three persons. Such members shall be citizens
residing within the City for which the Authority is created. Members
serve for a term of five years.]
