Where, by reason of provisions of the ordinances of the City or laws of the state, any officer, agent or employee of the City, elected or appointed, is required to furnish lawful bonds and sureties for the faithful performance of his duties incident to his respective office, in all cases he shall furnish a bond of a surety duly registered under the laws of the state, which shall have been approved and registered by the courts of Northampton County, the form of which shall be approved by the City Solicitor. The premiums on such bonds furnished by such officers, agents or employees of the City shall be paid from appropriations duly made from the various departments to which such officers, agents or employees are attached.[1]
