After an account is determined to be delinquent
and notice has been given to the property owner, a curb stop or other
equivalent device shall be installed by the town or its agents, with
the cost to be borne by the affected property owner.
If the town confirms a water leak in a property
owner's service line, the town will notify the property owner and
grant him/her a maximum of 30 days to repair the leak. If the leak
is not repaired within the specified time, the town shall install
a curb stop in order to terminate service and/or make the required
repairs, with the cost to be borne by the affected property owner.
If a property owner requests installation of
a curb stop, the town or its agents, at the town's discretion, will
perform the installation with the cost to be borne by the affected
property owner. If the property owner prefers to contract with a third
party to perform the installation, he/she must obtain an approved
permit from the town and agree to have said installation inspected
by the town.
