No wood, leaves, straw, hay, excelsior, waste,
rubbish, gasoline, oil or any other flammable or combustible materials
shall be deposited or kept within any yard, lot or parcel of land
or in or under any building in the Township of Carneys Point in sufficient
quantity or in such a manner as to be or become a menace or cause
or be liable to cause or spread a conflagration.
The Chairman of the Township Committee of Carneys
Point, or any agent appointed by him for that purpose, shall and may,
at any time, enter upon any premises and into any building in the
Township of Carneys Point for the purpose of investigating whether
or not the provisions of This article are being violated therein.
No person shall burn or cause to be burned any
wood, leaves, straw, hay, excelsior, waste, rubbish, gasoline, oil
or any other flammable or combustible materials in or on any public
street, avenue, highway or alley of the Township of Carneys Point.

Any person who shall violate any of the terms
or provisions of this article or do any act or thing therein prohibited
or neglect, fail or refuse to observe, perform or comply with any
of the conditions, terms and requirements contained in any permit
issued by the Chairman of the Carneys Point Township Committee in
the exercise of the authority vested in him by this article shall,
upon conviction thereof, forfeit and pay such fine not exceeding the
sum of $1,000 or be imprisoned in the Township jail or County jail
for such term not exceeding 90 days as may be imposed by the Judge
before whom such person shall be tried and convicted; provided, however,
that such Judge shall have power, in his discretion, to impose both
a fine and imprisonment not exceeding the maximum limits herein fixed.
