Police officers may engage in nonpartisan political
activities except when such activities will impair or harm the operation
or discipline of the Department.
Police officers may run for public office, but
may not campaign or engage in any activity connected with candidacy
for such office during any tour of police duty.
Members of the Department shall not solicit
contributions for political purposes, nor shall they interfere with
or use the influence of their office for political reasons.
