The term of office of the Town Clerk/Tax Collector
shall be four years.
This Article shall supersede § 24
of the Town Law, insofar as it is inconsistent with such section.
A proposition for the approval of this Article
shall be submitted to the electors of the Town of Shandaken at the
general election to be held in November 1990, and this Article shall
become operative only if approved by the affirmative vote of a majority
of the qualified electors voting upon such proposition.
For the purpose of furthering the goals and
operation of town government and for the general welfare of the residents
of the Town of Shandaken, the term of office for the Town Clerk/Tax
Collector shall be increased from two to four years.
If this Article is approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified electors of the town voting thereon at said general election, any of the town officers mentioned in § 10-1 hereof elected at a biennial town election held after this Article takes effect shall hold office for a term of four years, commencing on the first day of January next succeeding such election.
