Nonunion employees who retire with a pension under PERS shall be entitled
to receive terminal leave. The number of terminal leave days will be based
on the number of unused sick leave days at the time of retirement. Retiring
employees will remain on the payroll of the Borough based on one day of base
salary pay for every four days of accumulated unused sick leave up to 100
days; and one day of base salary pay for every three days of accumulated sick
leave beyond 100 days, to a maximum per diem value of $12,000. Retiring employees
will continue their full coverage of health insurance and other benefits during
their period of terminal leave.
