On and after the passage of this article, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to drive any horse-drawn vehicle or any automobile over any curb constructed by said Borough of Trafford in said borough, except where a proper approach to said curb has been erected in such a way as to protect the curb from being damaged thereby. Said approach shall be as high as the curb itself, on both sides of the curb.
Any curb, erected by said Borough of Trafford and damaged in any way by driving into, over or backing against the same, whether protected as set forth in § 170-1 or not so protected, shall be repaired and restored to as good condition as it was before being damaged, by the owner or driver of the vehicle or automobile doing the damage, within 10 days after the damage is done.

Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, pay a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000, together with costs, and in default thereof imprisonment for not more than 30 days, for each violation.
