The Borough of Old Forge, by this article, hereby
adopts an Affirmative Action Plan and Equal Employment Opportunity
Policy, attached hereto and made a part hereof, which plans incorporate and detail the affirmative desire
and commitment of the Borough of Old Forge to comply with the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (43 P.S.
§ 951 et seq.), the Americans with Disabilities Act (42
U.S.C. § 12101 et seq.), and all other legal requirements
so that all employees and applicants for positions shall be treated
equitably without distinction as to compensation, training, and opportunities
for advancement, including upgrade and promotion, because of race,
creed, color, national origin, sex, marital status, political affiliation,
age, physical disability and/or sexual orientation.
No person shall be excluded from participation
in or be denied benefits or be subject to discrimination under any
program or policy or activity constituting a part of the employee's
duties in which the Borough is authorized by law to incorporate as
a part of said employee's duties and for which federal and state funds
have been or may be hereafter granted and accepted by the Borough
for the purpose of payment of compensation to any employee.
Both the Equal Employment Opportunity Policy
and Affirmative Action Plan for the Borough of Old Forge shall be
disseminated internally as well as externally, to insure maximum effectiveness.
A copy of this policy shall be distributed to all department heads
and shall be available for review in the Borough Manager's office.
