A. 
The Town Board of the Town of Beekman is hereby empowered to create and appoint members to such citizen advisory committees as it shall deem needful, by subsequent resolution from time to time.
B. 
Such resolution shall specify the particular subject or areas on which said committee is to advise and such other details of its creation which may be appropriate, including, but not limited to, the number of its members, their terms, appointment of a Chairman, frequency of meetings, the duration of the committee's existence, and whether the committee will operate under the provisions of the Public Officers Law or similar statutes.
All such committees shall be strictly advisory in nature and, pursuant to law, and may not exercise powers on behalf of the Town Board nor bind the Town Board in any manner.
All such committees are subject to the guidelines of the Open Meetings Law,[1] and such committees shall have the power to go into executive session when necessary.

Upon the request of the Town Supervisor, the chairperson of any committee shall prepare a report to the Town Board updating the status of the committee's progress.
