Section 133 of the Town Law, as amended, is hereby amended in
its application to the Town of Beekman, Dutchess County, New York,
to read as follows:
"§ 133. When ordinance shall take effect. Except in
the case of a Zoning Ordinance, every ordinance and every amendment
to an ordinance hereafter adopted or approved by the Town Board of
the Town of Beekman, Dutchess County, New York, shall be entered in
its minutes, and a notice setting forth the title thereof, a brief
description of the provisions thereof and a statement that the original
is on file and may be inspected in the office of the Town Clerk shall
be published in a newspaper published in the Town, if any, or in such
newspaper published in the county in which such Town may be located
having a circulation in such Town as the Town Board may designate,
once, and a printed copy of such notice shall be posted on the signboard
maintained by the Town Clerk pursuant to Subdivision 6 of § 30
of the Town Law, and affidavits of such publication and posting shall
be filed with the Town Clerk. Such ordinance or amendment shall take
effect 10 days after such publication and posting, but such ordinance
or amendment shall take effect from the date of its service as against
a person served personally with a copy thereof certified by the Town
Clerk under the Corporate Seal of the Town and showing the date of
its passage and entry in the minutes."
This chapter shall be subject to referendum on petition and
shall take effect, subject to the provisions of § 24 of
the Municipal Home Rule Law, when filed in the office of the Secretary
of State pursuant to § 27 of such law.
