The unauthorized use or the use by unauthorized personnel of
fire apparatus, fire-fighting equipment and vehicles; emergency apparatus,
equipment and vehicles; and highway apparatus, equipment and vehicles
owned by the Township of Upper Deerfield is strictly prohibited.
Nothing herein contained shall be construed to prohibit the
taking of fire apparatus and fire-fighting equipment and vehicles;
emergency apparatus, equipment and vehicles; and road and/or maintenance
apparatus, equipment and vehicles of said Township of Upper Deerfield
outside the limits thereof by persons having lawful custody of such
apparatus and equipment and vehicles for the purpose of having the
same repaired or serviced.
Any person who shall violate any of the terms or provisions
of this chapter or do any act or thing therein prohibited shall, upon
conviction thereof, pay a fine not exceeding the sum of $100 or be
imprisoned in the county jail for such term, not exceeding 30 days,
as shall be determined and imposed by the Municipal Judge before whom
such person shall be tried and convicted; provided, however, that
such Municipal Judge shall have the power, in his discretion, to impose
both fine and imprisonment not exceeding the respective maximum limits
herein fixed. Where personnel of the Township of Upper Deerfield are
held responsible, they shall also be subject to appropriate disciplinary
action.
