A. 
Appointment and term. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133, there shall be a Municipal Clerk of the Borough of Seaside Park, appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council for a term of three years, commencing January 1 of the year of appointment.
B. 
Duties. The Borough Clerk shall attend all meetings of the Borough Council and keep a correct record of all its proceedings and perform all of the functions required of municipal clerks by state law. The Borough Clerk shall also perform such other duties as the Borough Council may require.
C. 
Compensation. The Borough Clerk shall be paid the salary as set forth in the Salary Ordinance.[1]

Established. The position of Deputy Borough Clerk is hereby established in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-135.
B. 
Appointment and term. The Deputy Borough Clerk shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council for a term of one year, commencing January 1 of the year of appointment. Any vacancy shall be filled in a like manner for the unexpired term.
C. 
Duties. The Deputy Borough Clerk shall perform all those duties and functions as directed by the Borough Clerk and shall act in place and instead of the Borough Clerk and assume the Borough Clerk's responsibilities during the Borough Clerk's absence.
D. 
Compensation. The Deputy Borough Clerk shall be paid the salary as set forth in the Salary Ordinance.[1]

In accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-157, the Mayor and Borough Council may from time to time designate an individual to be Acting Borough Clerk.
