The officers of the Washington Fire
Department shall consist of a Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief,
Captains and Lieutenants.

The officers of the Washington Fire
Department shall be selected annually by the members of the Washington
Volunteer Fire Company ("Company"), subject to the approval of the
City Council.

The Department may have such other
officers as may be considered necessary.

A. The Chief shall be the commander of the
Department on all occasions when it is called into active duty of
any kind.
B. The Assistant Chief shall assist the Chief
in commanding the Department, and in the absence of the Chief shall
discharge his/her duties.

The Mayor, City Administrator, Assistant
City Administrator, City Council, or their designee may inspect the
property of the Department or such property as may be in its custody.

A. The Chief shall annually, at the regular
meeting of the City Council in July of each year, report to the Mayor
and City Council the number of members of the Company, a full inventory
of property and equipment on hand, and whether the same is serviceable
or not, with a list of property and equipment purchased, sold, repaired
and made, with all receipts and expenditures, and may add thereto
such other matters as he/she may deem necessary, with any suggestions
or recommendations in relation to the efficiency of the Department
or its purposes or objects, that he/she may deem fit or proper.
B. The Mayor and City Council may call on
the Chief at any time for special reports on any subject connected
with the Department.
