The sanitary landfill is an acceptable and effective method for the ultimate disposal of solid wastes. The purpose of these regulations is to prevent the occurrence of air, land and water pollution, to assist in the abatement of such conditions when and where such pollution may occur and to extend the life of the sanitary landfill.
A. 
Only refuse generated within the Town of Easton will be accepted.
B. 
No vehicle shall be admitted without either an annual sticker, a ticket received upon payment of a fee, or a temporary permit.
C. 
No other area within the town, public or private, shall be used for disposal unless such a place has been assigned in accordance with MGL c. 111, § 150A.
D. 
Adequate covering of the material brought to the municipal sanitary landfill shall be provided to prevent spillage onto the streets.
E. 
Accepted materials for disposal include residential rubbish, household appliances, mufflers, tailpipes, latex-based paints, wood remnants which have been cut into three-foot lengths and bundled, no more than two automobile tires per trip, grass clippings and leaves.
F. 
Unacceptable materials include demolition material, stumps, special wastes such as sewage solids, radioactive wastes, pathological wastes, explosive materials, chemicals, certain liquid wastes or other materials of hazardous nature or materials requiring special handling or procedures for disposal. A homeowner will be allowed the one-time privilege of delivering one load of demolition material resulting from home remodeling in a vehicle of not more than 8,600 pounds gross vehicle weight.

G. 
Asbestos shingles and siding, which has been properly wetted and bagged, may be placed in the active face of the landfill. Advance notice shall be given to the operator, and it must be deposited early in the day.
H. 
Brush will be accepted only at such time and under such conditions as directed by the Board of Selectmen.
I. 
No salvage of materials shall be allowed except by special permit from the Board of Health.
J. 
The sanitary landfill covered by these regulations is owned by the Town of Easton under the control of the Board of Selectmen, who set operations policy and fee schedules.
K.

A. 
Any person, including any political subdivision of the Commonwealth, who fails to operate and maintain a sanitary landfill facility in accordance with the provisions of MGL c. 111, § 150A or in accordance with these regulations or orders hereunder promulgated shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500.
B. 
Any person who violates any provision of these rules and regulations shall be in violation of the Town of Easton Disposition of Refuse Bylaw[1] and shall be subject to a fine of $200 per violation and/or suspension of landfill permit.

C. 
Each day's failure to comply with said provisions, regulations or orders shall constitute a separate violation.

This policy, which was voted at the Board of Health meeting on Friday, November 22, 1991, supersedes any other policy pertaining to the same matter and is intended for the exclusive use of pumpers who reside in Easton.
The following procedure is to be followed when using the sanitary landfill to clean out sand and stone from the truck:
A. 
Call the Board of Health office requesting when you wish to use the landfill, giving a minimum of 24 hours' notice.
B. 
The Board of Health will contact the landfill and make arrangements as to time and site assignment.
C. 
The Board of Health will notify the pumper as to arrangement.
D. 
Enter the gate and see the attendant who will supervise procedure.
Any deviation from this policy will result in the loss of this privilege. This is the only site where this procedure can be done. Any violation could result in the suspension or revocation of your permit.
