Editor's Note: Former Art. IV, Veterans Alternative Exemption, adopted 10-1-1984 by L.L. No. 5-1984, was repealed 8-4-2003 by L.L. No. 5-2003. The Village stated that, by virtue of this repeal, the Village automatically opted in to the enhanced veterans alternative exemption which became available to veterans who served on active duty in the United States armed services during the Persian Gulf Conflict (August 2, 1990, to date); the Vietnam War (February 28, 1961, to May 7, 1975); the Korean War (June 27, 1950, to January 31, 1955) and World War II (December 7, 1941, to December 31, 1946). The dates for Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf are prescribed by § 458-a of the New York Real Property Tax Law where the full provisions of the law can be found. The dates for World War II are derived from federal law.
