No personal property shall be sold at auction
in the City of Peekskill unless such sale is conducted by an individual
who has applied for and obtained an auctioneer's license from the
City Clerk.

The fee for an auctioneer's license shall be set forth
in the Consolidated Fee Schedule maintained in the office of the City
Clerk. The annual license shall be valid from January 1 to December
31 of the year in which issued.
It shall be unlawful to conduct an auction sale
of personal property on any public property within the City of Peekskill
without the specific permission of the City Manager, which permission
shall be granted only in the case of a sale being conducted for a
public or charitable purpose.
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply
to auction sales conducted by trustees or referees in bankruptcy,
executors, administrators, receivers or public officers acting under
judicial process, nor to the sale of real property at auction.

Every person convicted of a violation of any
provisions of this chapter may be punished by a fine of not more than
$500.
