A Planning Commission is hereby established for the Township of Pine as provided for in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Act 247 of 1988, as amended.[1] Said Commission hereby established shall hereafter be known as the "Pine Township Planning Commission."

The Pine Township Planning Commission shall consist of seven persons who shall be residents of this municipality. Said members shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary and reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
All members shall be appointed by resolution of the Township Board of Supervisors. The term of each member shall be for four years or until the Commission member's successor is appointed and qualified, except that for the terms of the members first appointed, no more than two shall be reappointed or replaced during any future calendar year.
The powers and the duties of the Planning Commission shall include, but may not necessarily be limited to, those powers and duties as set forth in Act 247 of 1968, as amended, and referred to in 53 P.S. § 10101 et seq.
