No person, firm or corporation shall build any outdoor fire within the corporate limits of the Village except as set forth in §
181-2 of this chapter.
The Fire Chief is permitted to prohibit any or all outdoor fires when atmospheric conditions or local circumstances make such fires hazardous. For any unauthorized burning, the Police Department, Fire Chief or their designee has the authority to extinguish the fire or order the fire extinguished. Unauthorized burning may result in the issuance of a citation per the general penalty in Chapter
1, §
1-3.
No materials may be burned upon any street, curb, gutter or sidewalk.
Persons utilizing and maintaining outdoor fires shall be responsible
for any liability resulting from damage caused by their fire.
The following materials may not be burned:
A. Rubbish or garbage, including but not limited to food wastes,
food wraps, packaging, animal carcasses, paint or painted materials, furniture,
composite shingles, construction or demolition debris or other household or
business wastes.
B. Waste oil or other oily wastes.
C. Asphalt and products containing asphalt.
D. Treated or painted wood, including but not limited to plywood,
composite wood products or other wood products that are painted, varnished
or treated with preservatives.
E. Any plastic material, including but not limited to nylon, PVC,
ABS, polystyrene or urethane foam, and synthetic fabrics, films and containers.
F. Rubber, including tires and synthetic rubber-like products.
G. Newspaper, corrugated cardboard, container board, office paper and other materials that must be recycled in accordance with Chapter
355, Solid Waste.
