The annual City election shall be held on the first Tuesday in April or, in years of presidential primaries, on the date of the primary designated by state law; provided, however, that such primary is held prior to the first Tuesday in April.

The polls for all elections shall open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Elections shall be held in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes.

The polling location for all wards of the City of Oconto Falls shall be the Oconto Falls Municipal Building, 500 North Chestnut Avenue, Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
Whenever three or more candidates file nomination papers, candidates for elective City offices may be nominated by a nonpartisan primary conducted pursuant to § 8.05(4), Wis. Stats. Such candidate shall file with his nomination papers a declaration that the candidate will qualify for the office to which the candidate may be elected.
A. 
Examination. All persons named on the lists of proposed election officials shall be examined by the City Administrator - Clerk/Treasurer, or a designee of the Administrator - Clerk/Treasurer, as to their ability to read and write the English language and a general knowledge of election laws. If any persons fail to pass the examination, the proper representative of the political party concerned shall be permitted to file additional names. These persons shall also be examined. When the appointment list is complete, the list shall be submitted by the City Administrator - Clerk/Treasurer to the Mayor for action as provided by law.
B. 
Number of election officials. Pursuant to state statutes, there is hereby established one set of election officials to conduct all elections in the wards of the City which shall consist of a number of officials as determined by the City Administrator - Clerk/Treasurer, with no less than three, pursuant to § 7.32, Wis. Stats., and pursuant to § 7.33, Wis. Stats., each election official shall be appointed for a two-year term and shall receive training as required in § 7.31, Wis. Stats. Election officials may work full or split shifts, allowing two or more sets of officials to work at different times, as determined by the Chief Election Inspector or City Clerk.

There are created within the City of Oconto Falls three Aldermanic Districts for the purpose of electing representative (Aldermen) to the Common Council pursuant to Chapter 100, Article I, of this Code. The Aldermanic Districts shall consist of the following:
A. 
Aldermanic District One shall consist of Wards One and Two. Population: 1,093.
B. 
Aldermanic District Two shall consist of Wards Three and Four. Population: 950.
C. 
Aldermanic District Three shall consist of Wards Five and Six. Population: 914.

The City of Oconto Falls hereby adopts § 7.23, Wis. Stats., Destruction of election materials, as amended from time to time.
