[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Cinnaminson 1-27-1959 by Ord. No. 1959-2 (Sec. 2.92 of the 1995 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]

All dwelling houses, stores or other buildings within the limits of Cinnaminson Township shall be numbered in conformity with the street numbers shown on the map entitled "Building Numbers, Cinnaminson Township," which map and the building numbering system thereon delineated is filed in the office of the Township Clerk and hereby is adopted as the system of building numbers for the Township of Cinnaminson.

A. 
The Township Committee, or its delegate, shall plot on the map of the Township entitled "Building Numbers" all the properties which now or hereafter front on any street and shall designate and assign an official number therefor.
B. 
The Township Assessor, Township Engineer or 9-1-1 Coordinator shall from time to time consider numbering and address information of existing properties to reduce or eliminate any confusion in the delivery of emergency services.[1]

A. 
Address requirements.
(1) 
Address requirements shall be as follows:

(2) 
The owner or occupant shall utilize such official address at all times.
B. 
House numbering requirements.
(1) 
The owner or occupant of any building for which an official number is designated shall be required at his own expense to place the official number on the structure or a post so that it is clearly visible from the street on which the building fronts.
(2) 
If the official number cannot be displayed on the structure or a post so as to be clearly visible from the street, it shall be displayed at the end of the driveway to the building so that it is clearly visible from the street on which the building fronts.
(3) 
Figures at least three inches high shall be used to display the official number, and all numbers shall be lighted or reflective.
C. 
Mailbox numbering requirements.
(1) 
Buildings with rural mailboxes located on the same side of the street on which the building fronts shall have the official number displayed on both sides of the mailbox.
(2) 
Buildings with rural mailboxes located on the opposite side of the street on which the building fronts shall have the official number displayed on the side of the mailbox facing oncoming traffic. The official number shall also be posted at the end of the driveway to the building so that it is clearly visible from the street
(3) 
Buildings with mailboxes clustered with others or on a street other than that on which the building fronts shall have the official street address displayed in one-inch lettering on the front door of the mailbox.
All doorway entrances and/or exits for commercial establishments shall have printed thereon, in block letters, at least three inches high and approximately six inches from the top of the doorway, in conspicuously contrasting colors, the name of the commercial establishment located therein; provided, however, that there shall be exempt from this requirement such main entrance or entrances as are otherwise conspicuously and clearly marked with the identity of the commercial establishment located therein. It is the intent of this provision that emergency personnel arriving at the scene of a fire or other emergency have immediate identification of access routes to commercial occupancies located in a particular commercial building or buildings.

It shall be the duty of the Township Assessor, with the assistance of the Township Engineer, to make such modifications and changes in said map as may be hereafter required by reason of creation or addition of additional lots and to assign numbers thereto in accordance with the system delineated on said map and to maintain said map in the office of the Township Clerk, where it shall be open to inspection by the public at all times.

Any person, firm or corporation failing to comply with any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, for each day said violation continues, pay a fine of not more than $50 or, in default thereof, be confined to the Burlington County Jail for a period of not more than 10 days, in the discretion of the court before whom such conviction shall be had.
