There shall be a department known as the "Fair Lawn Municipal Court."
The head of the Department of the Municipal Court shall be the Judge of the Municipal Court appointed by the Council for a term of three years. The Judge of the Municipal Court shall be an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey and shall be paid an annual salary as established by the salary ordinance. The Judge of the Municipal Court shall be admitted to practice in this state for a period of no less than five years.
Under N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., the Municipal Court Judge may designate another approved Municipal Court Judge as Acting Judge, regulated only by that which is consonant with health, normal vacations and any necessary personal disqualifications. Compensation for such substitute service shall be a matter between the Judge of the Municipal Court and his/her designee.
The Manager shall appoint a Municipal Court administrator and such additional personnel, as required, who shall serve according to law, as the Municipal Court staff.
A. 
Establishment of a Municipal Court. A Municipal Court for the Borough is established, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1, as amended and supplemented.
B. 
Name of Court. The name of the Municipal Court shall be the "Municipal Court of the Borough of Fair Lawn, New Jersey."
C. 
Seal. The Municipal Court shall have a seal which shall bear the impress of the name of the court.
D. 
Powers, duties and jurisdiction of Court. The Municipal Court and the Municipal Judge thereof shall have, possess and exercise all the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by the provisions of N.J.S.A 2B:12-1, as amended and supplemented, and by "Rules Governing the Courts of the State of New Jersey", the amendments thereof and supplements thereto.
E. 
Location of Court; time of holding Court. The Municipal Court shall be held in the municipal building. The Municipal Judge shall sit at least once weekly and at such other times as the business of the Court may require, subject to the rules applicable to municipal courts as established by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey and the Administrative Office of the Courts.

The Model Order of the Fair Lawn Municipal Court entitled, "Local Supplemental Violations Bureau Schedule," attached hereto and made a part hereof as Schedule A, is hereby amended and adopted in its entirety.[1]
