Whereas, the Borough of Fair Lawn Fire Department and the Borough
of Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue Squad has participated and are members of
the Northwest Bergen Mutual Aid Association, the Central Bergen Mutual
Aid Association, the Bergen County Hazardous Materials Association,
and other contiguous communities for the purpose of mutual aid assistance
between local communities in the event of fire, disaster or other
emergencies.
The Borough of Fair Lawn shall be and is hereby authorized to
participate in the intermunicipal mutual fire and emergency aid system
of the Northwest Bergen Mutual Aid, the Central Bergen Mutual Aid,
the Bergen County Hazardous Materials Association and other contiguous
communities in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:14-156.1,
and the Borough Council shall be and is hereby authorized to enter
into agreements to implement this authorization with other local municipalities.
