[Adopted 7-27-1982 as Sec. 3-11 of the 1981 Revised General Ordinances]
The Borough Council hereby declares that the sale of any goods on the public street adjoining or abutting the public schools causes impeding of traffic, littering of public grounds and the endangering of the safety of school children.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GOODS
Any goods, wares or merchandise, and particularly foodstuffs.
PUBLIC SCHOOL PROPERTY
Any property of the Board of Education of the borough upon which is located a public school.
SALE
The sale or offering for sale or soliciting trade.
SCHOOL HOURS
Any time between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, exclusive of Saturdays, during such days as the school may be in session.
STREET
Any public road, sidewalk or other thoroughfare.
No person shall sell any goods, either on foot or from a motor vehicle or other conveyance, on any street within 500 feet of any public school property during school hours.
