There shall be a Wicomico County Emergency Management
and Disaster Preparedness Agency, which shall be headed by the Director
of Emergency Management and Preparedness.

Such Director shall be appointed by the Governor
of Maryland, pursuant to the provisions of Public Safety Article,
§ 14-109 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, upon recommendation
of the County Executive.
The Director shall be subject to the administrative
control of Wicomico County.

The Director shall be responsible for coordinating
emergency preparation and emergency activities of the county government
with other governmental units and shall be responsible for coordinating
county activities designed to minimize repair, injury or damage caused
during such emergencies, at the direction of the Wicomico County Executive.
