There is hereby created and established the office of Chief Financial Officer in the government of the City of Hackensack. The Chief Financial Officer shall be duly certified by the State of New Jersey pursuant to statute and shall have the power and authority to perform all duties of the Municipal Finance Officer as required by N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq., and further defined in Chapter 5.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the City Council and hold office pursuant to the governing statute.
The Chief Financial Officer shall receive such salary as shall be provided in the annual Salary Ordinance.[1]
