For the purposes of this article, the following
terms shall have meanings indicated:
BIKE PATH
A macadam or concrete thoroughfare designed in accordance
with overall site plan requirements.
SIDEWALK
A macadam or concrete thoroughfare designed to aid pedestrian
traffic.
In order to promote off-the-street travel, bike paths and sidewalks have been designed and built to aid in the movement of pedestrian and nonmotorized traffic vehicles. In order to protect the safety of those persons utilizing bike paths and sidewalks throughout the Township, it is desirable and necessary to adopt this Article
III to ensure proper safety in the use of bike paths and sidewalks.
No person shall operate a motor-driven vehicle
on any bike path and/or sidewalk within the Township. Motor-driven
vehicles include any truck, car, motorcycle, moped, minibike, motor
scooter, go-cart, trail bike, dune buggy, all-terrain vehicle and/or
any other motorized vehicle designed primarily for recreational use. Emergency vehicles operated by police, fire and rescue
departments shall be exempt. Additionally, the Police Department's
motorcycle patrol vehicles shall be exempted.

Any person violating any provision of this article shall, upon conviction, be deemed guilty of a Class A violation, punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
II.
