Prior to the installation of a freestanding wood-burning stove or freestanding
fireplace in any building in the Township of Lopatcong, such installation
shall be approved by the Construction Official or the Fire Protection Subcode
Official of said township.
Such installation shall comply with the provisions of the Uniform Construction Code of the State of New Jersey and Chapter 23, Title 5, of the New Jersey Administrative Code, and any amendments and supplements thereto, and rules and regulations issued thereunder.
A permit and approval of such installation shall be issued by the proper
office of the township upon the payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.).
Any person who violates this chapter shall be subject to a penalty of
a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.) or to imprisonment
for not more than ninety (90) days or a period of community service not exceeding
ninety (90) days, or any combination thereof, at the discretion of the court.
