It shall be unlawful without the consent or authority of the Fire Chief or his assistant for any person to run, drive or draw, or cause to be run, driven or drawn, any motor vehicle, wagon or cart or other vehicle over or upon, or willfully to injure or damage or in any manner to molest or interfere with, any fire hose belonging to the Fire Department of the village.
It shall be unlawful for any person in any manner to obstruct the use of any fire hydrant within the village or to place any material in front thereof or within 10 feet of either side thereof.
It shall be unlawful for any person, unless duly authorized, to open, draw water from, unfasten or to break or injure any of the fire hydrants set in the public streets of this village.
It shall be unlawful for any person willfully or without proper authority to injure, deface, destroy, carry away, keep or conceal any tool, appliance, accessories, apparatus or other property or things belonging to or used in any way by the Fire Department.
It shall be unlawful for any person to injure, deface or open any fire alarm box unless for the purpose of sending in an alarm of actual fire.
It shall be unlawful to willfully hinder or obstruct or offer any obstruction or hindrance to any apparatus of the Fire Department while proceeding to a fire, or to willfully hinder or obstruct any fireman in the performance of his duty.
The fire limits of the Village of Chittenango are hereby authorized and fixed as follows: All that portion of the village included within the following and consisting of both sides of Genesee Street between Falls Boulevard and Arch Street and a distance 200 feet east and west of the center line of said Genesee Street.

No permit shall be issued by the Board of Trustees for the construction, repair or replacement of any building within the fire limits, except where the exterior walls of such building shall be constructed, repaired or replaced with a fire-resistant barrier, which barrier shall consist of masonry or other acceptable fire-retardant material, which complies with the State Fire Prevention and Building Code, and with a fire-resistant roof. However, such provision with regard to fire-resistant barriers in external walls shall not apply to any structure which maintains a minimum fifteen-foot side yard and rear yard between the exterior of the building and the property line. No existing building shall be substantially altered without compliance with these restrictions, and compliance with all other applicable restrictions of the State Fire Prevention and Building Code.
Any person committing an offense against the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable for each offense by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
