This chapter shall be known as the "Town of
Ontario Recreation and Parks Law."
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
ADVISORY BOARD
The duly appraised Advisory Board of the Town of Ontario,
Wayne County, New York.
DEPARTMENT
The Recreation and Parks Department consisting of the Director
and staff of recreation and parks of the Town of Ontario.
DIRECTOR
The Director of the Recreation and Parks Department of the
Town of Ontario or any of his/her authorized agents.
HARBOR
Bear Creek Harbor located off Lake Road in the Town of Ontario.
PARKS
Any property designated by the Town Board as parks.
PERMIT
Any written license issued by or under the authority of the
Director permitting the performance of a specified act or acts or
the conduct of a particular function, program or activity.
PERSON
Any natural person, corporation, company, association, joint-stock
association, firm, partnership or other entity or form of association.
PLANNING BOARD
The duly appointed Planning Board of the Town of Ontario.
RECREATIONAL FACILITY
Any facility used for sports, fishing, swimming, picnicking,
boating, hiking or other recreational activity. Facilities owned either
by the Town of Ontario or the State of New York shall be public recreational
facilities. All other facilities owned by individuals, groups, partnerships,
businesses or corporations shall be deemed private recreational facilities.
RECREATION PROGRAM
Any program organized by and run under the auspices or sponsorship
of the Town of Ontario.
SWIMMING AREA
Any pools or beaches within a park and pools not within a
park when being operated by or used for the public by the Department
of Parks and Recreation of the Town of Ontario.
TOWN BOARD
The duly elected Town Board of the Town of Ontario, Wayne
County, New York.
VEHICLE
Any vehicle propelled by power other than muscular power.
