The governing Advisory Board shall be known
as the "Recreation and Parks Advisory Board of the Town of Ontario"
hereinafter referred to as the "Board."

A. The Board shall consist of seven persons who shall
be residents of the Town of Ontario. They shall be appointed by the
Town Board for a term of five years. All vacancies which may occur
shall be filled by the Town Board.
B. A member's term expires upon the expiration of five
years on the Board or when such person no longer is a resident of
the Town of Ontario.
The Town Board of the Town of Ontario expressly
reserves to itself all powers not hereinbefore specifically granted
to the Advisory Board or to the Director. Such powers include but
are not limited to the following:
A. The power to make adjustments to and approve the budget
of the recreation and parks department.
B. The power to lease, purchase or otherwise acquire
additional real property for use as parks.
C. The power to approve rules and regulations for the
operation and conduct of recreational facilities and programs.
D. The power to appoint Board Members and the Board Chairperson,
taking into consideration the recommendation of the Advisory Board.
E. The power to employ a Director and to assign employees
to the Director. The Town Board may assign employees of the Recreation
and Parks Department to other Departments as may be deemed necessary.
