The Board of Supervisors of Doylestown Township
may, from time to time, amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal
this chapter by proceeding in the following manner:
A. The Board of Supervisors, by resolution adopted at
a regular or special meeting, shall fix the time and place of a public
hearing on the proposed amendment and cause public notice thereof
to be given as follows:
(1) Notice shall be published once each week for two consecutive
weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the Township. Such
notice shall state the time and place of hearing and the particular
nature of the matter to be considered at the hearing. The first publication
shall not be more than 30 days and the second publication shall not
be less than seven days from the date of the hearing. A copy of the
amendment shall be supplied to a newspaper of general circulation
in the Township at the time the public notice is published.
(2) The notice shall state that full opportunity shall
be given to any citizen and all parties in interest to be heard at
such hearing. The notice shall state where in the Township copies
of the proposed amendment may be examined without charge or obtained
for a charge not greater than the cost thereof.
(3) An attested copy of the proposed amendment shall be
filed in the Bucks County Law Library.
B. All proposed amendments not originating with the Township
Planning Commission before adoption shall be referred to the Township
Planning Commission. All proposed amendments shall be forwarded to
the Bucks County Planning Commission at least 45 days prior to the
public hearing for its written recommendations.
C. In the event substantial amendments are made in the
proposed ordinance or amendment, before voting upon enactment the
Board of Supervisors shall, at least 10 days prior to enactment, readvertise,
in one newspaper of general circulation in the Township, a brief summary
setting forth all the provisions in reasonable detail, together with
a summary of the amendments.
D. Within 30 days after adoption, the Township shall
forward a certified copy of any amendment to the Bucks County Planning
Commission.
